Terry McCarty was just six years old when he was engulfed in flames after his brothers set a full bowl of kerosene alight, and accidentally spilled on him. Burned over seventy percent of his body, he endured fifty-eight operations.
But the greatest pain might have been imposed on Terry by the bullies who taunted him, calling him Freddy Krueger.
Terry, now twenty-nine, lives in Bellingham, WA and has devoted his life to saving others from fire's destruction.
Terry is running his own foundation which funds programs for children with burns, and assists the first responders who aid in the rescue of these children. Check back with us in the following weeks as we present his personal account of the
tragedy he has turned into triumph.
